Yozaga Well
Yozaga Well is said to have been discovered unexpectedly while building a tomb in the Sanzan (Three Kingdom) period. The abundant spring was an important water source for the people of Yoza, providing Wakamiji (first water drawn from the well on New Year’s Day) and serving as Nbuga for babies’ first bath. There are small shrines marked Wakuga, Ufuga and Furuga located near the water source, which are visited by the respective Munchu families in Kamigui (pilgrimage to sacred springs) during the Umachii (agricultural ritual pertaining to wheat and rice). Today, the site has been developed as Yozaga Park, where families visit on holidays to enjoy water recreation.
